Mechanism of Action:
  • Inhibits platelet aggregation by blocking adenosine uptake and phosphodiesterase activity
  • Increases cAMP levels in platelets, leading to inhibition of platelet activation and aggregation
Use:
  • Prevention of stroke and systemic embolism in patients with a history of transient ischemic attack or ischemic stroke
  • Adjunctive therapy with aspirin to reduce the risk of recurrent stroke
